In 2004 the boat went trough a full electonics upgrade. The complete 2004 SIMRAD proffesional series instrumentation was installed and interconnected via the boat's network. It includes the IS15 Wind , the IS15 Multi, the powerful ÁÑ20-25 Autopilot, and the superb Radar-GPS-chart plotter, with a big 10" color display! It uses the famous C-MAP NT+ electronic maps, updated twice a year.
From the screen position, by the chart table, you can check your course and navigate the boat by sending commands through the network to the helmsman who juct confirms the execution of those commands with a click of a button!
If you are short of sailors or you don't want to disturb your crew, use the TACK function under WIND mode of the Autopilot and you will only have to pull the genoa sheet!
In 2005 the new powerful windlass Lofrans' Progress II, 1500 Watt, 1.5 tn maximum pull, was fit. It is operated by a wireless controller and powered by new (2007) batteries of 400 Ah total capacity.
The new Yanmar 56 HP diesel motor replaced in 2003 the previous 44 HP one. Equipped with a new flywheel system that uses liquid (mercury) to eliminate vibrations, it guaranties a smooth and quiet operation for a more comfortable and pleasent trip.
In 2004 the propeller was replaced with the 3 blade automatic feathering ÌAX-PROP, which greatly helps during manouvres and folds back when under sail, thus contributing about 10% to the boat's speed.
